I recently got a HD camera and had to upgrade to this software to create DVD's. I tried contacting customer service and of course there is no phone number, so you have to rely on the email service, which they were slow to respond to and when they did they kept telling me the same thing (which didn't work). When I played the DVD on the TV there was the WORST motion blur. Whenever anyone moved there was the worst blur behind them. it was like a stock answer. And the bummer is you can't get your money back if you buy it at a store, so I wasted $60.
Rebooting my PC was of no help. I wish I had done a little more research before buying this product. Tonight, I went through the process all over again of editing my video, and again Roxio Creator froze up on me before I could even get to the point where I was last night.I have a brand new PC that meets all the system requirements, so that isn't the problem. I finished editing (and saved) my first production last night. When I tried to burn a DVD from the production, Roxio Creator froze up on me. After reading product reviews here and elsewhere, I've just realized I made a terrible mistake in buying this product. Roxio, get your act together and quit selling buggy software to the public.
I haven't used any other for creating slideshows, but for the several slideshows I have received from friends, there is NO way they endured this kind of frustration and didn't share their sorrows. You press a button or key to do ANY THING and you WAIT. I didn't purchase this from Amazon, but I've bought so many other things from this website, I figured I would warn anyone I could. (I'm working on over an hour) - It is big, but this is rediculous. If I wasn't under a time constraint and too far in to start over, I would have trashed this. (I probably will after I finish this project, if in deed I EVER do). This is THE WORST software I have EVER used. How long does it take to save a file.
ARRRRGGGGGGGG. You have no idea if the program just stopped working, or how long you should expect to wait. Do yourself a favor and RETREAT from buying this product. How long does it take to change a font and change the color. I am certainly familiar with the functionality of several other software products, so it's not that I'm a techno-ignoramous. The functionality is random.
I am looking at this as a lesson in PATIENCE. Try MINUTEs. The features do not behave the same from one session to the next. I would have given it a negative 2 if I could have.
The reason why I don't I am not happy with this product is because you get a computer message to upgrade on your computer to this product and then once you get it may not be compatiable with your computer. The only program that will read this software is Windows XP and Vista.
I installed the software and could ot get it to run without a windows error popping up. I uninstalled and re-installed. After the re-install I did a software update and was able to launch without a problem.Once running I'm very happy, the interfaces are intutive and easy to use, without consulting the manual. I thnk this is a great package for the non-technical user.
